How Does my Hair Look in my New Lamborghini...

Lying really pisses us off. It is pointless and just plain stupid. You will always get caught and when you do, you will look like more of an ass than you would have with the truth. Now, don’t get us wrong, we totally get why you would want to lie, let’s face it, everyone wants to look as perfect and amazing as possible. Most of your lives suck, so it only makes sense you would want to lie about them. Hell we wouldn't want to admit we were you either.

A popular type of liar is the braggart (see Dictionary dummy). This is the man or woman who just needs to appear better off than they actually are. This is the guy who borrows an expensive car for the high school reunion, the woman who wears a big diamond ring that she bought to wear to their old friend’s wedding only to return it the next day, or the couple who rents a beach house and passes it off as something they own. The braggart can usually be found at an event where they will see many people they haven’t seen in years. Their sole purpose is to make people jealous of their material possessions. The problem with the braggart is that people gossip and it will soon be known that the car, the ring or the beach house are not yours and you will be the damn laughing stock of the group…the group you worked so hard to impress.

We also all know the bad friend liar. They will tell you whatever you want to hear whenever you want to hear it. They will tell you that you look hot it that dress, your kid is cute, you husband is nice and so much more. They are extremely dangerous because they will give you confidence about things that should truly make you nervous. Your new hair color makes you look like Bozo the clown but the bad friend will tell you it’s hot. You have an annoying laugh that scares everyone away, well the bad friend will tell you they have no idea why people shy away when she knows damn well. They will lie about anything in which the truth will lessen your confidence.

There is also the person who cannot tell the truth EVER. These people lie for absolutely no rhyme or reason. They just lie to lie. They know the truth and no one will be hurt by the truth but they just keep on lying. Sometimes their lie is huge like, they are friends of a friend of Mark Zuckerburg. They can also be small, they cleaned off the table, a table that is still visibly dirty. The problem with these folks is that you will never know if they are telling the truth. They are the boy who cried wolf; so unfortunately, if they do tell the truth, you won’t believe them.

Of all these liars, the bad friend is the one you need to run away from. They will hurt you and they will break your heart. They will you confidence you do not deserve. The braggart is not so bad because when the truth gets out you will laugh for days. In fact, meeting a braggart may be a good thing. You will feel bad during the lie but you will feel euphoric for so long after the truth is revealed. The person who can never tell the truth will entertain you too so they may not be so bad to have around, either.
